Confusion in San Jose
After Christmas, well on the 2nd day š I wanted to take a bus from San Jose to Puerto Viejo which is on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. I knew the location of the bus station but due to a huge parade it wasnāt that easy to find it. And just when I got there and wanted to buy my ticket a man with a piece of paper talked to me in Spanish but the paper explained the situation well. The bus company moved their operation to ANOTHER station which is in a walking distance about 20 minutes.
Unfortunately, through one of the worst areas in San Jose which I of course had not known before. So I started walking and the neighbourhood got worse and worse. A man on the street explained the way to me and accompanied me until the station fortunately because I really felt uncomfortable walking through areas like that. It seems that there isnāt any āborder areaā, the neighborhood changes suddenly from good to bad.
