What’s the next step? My blog and Youtube
Lately I’ve received a lot of messages with the question why the blog has become so “quiet”. Therefore, I’m giving you a short update about Backpacker’s Guide to the World and the new Youtube channel.
Redesign of the blog to a website
At the end of 2017 I completely redesigned my blog and organized it like a website. Of course every blog is also a website, but my goal was to make certain content and information – like packing tips – easier to find.
Even though I still travel a lot, I unfortunately have less time to write blog posts. At some point I noticed that my blog’s main goal it’s not about providing complete information (except for cost estimates and tips), but rather about describing my impressions of visiting places and sharing my travel style with others. But part of my travel style is not to rattle through all the sights, but to do what I feel like doing. So, if there will be travel reports in the future, I will primarily focus on my impressions.
The blog’s redesign will make it easier to find tips and well-researched articles. I will continue to write blog posts, but only if I find enough time, which is unlikely.
Redesign of my Youtube channel
As some may know, Backpacker’s Guide to the World also has a Youtube channel since 2014. Unfortunately, I could only work rarely on videos in the last years – but I filmed a lot on almost all of my trips. After long planning and thinking, I redesigned and renewed my channel just a few weeks ago. From now on I try to post new videos about backpacking and my travel style every week, including tips and tricks. I decided to make the videos in English, because of my many international friends. In my “pipeline” are videos about Jordan, Japan, Myanmar, my world trip and many more. In fact, there will be a video to many of the already existing blog posts. I’m really looking forward to working on it, because creating the videos will also produce great travel “souvenirs” for me. So if you are interested, have a look on a channel.
Don’t Panic!
