A bit of Bangkok within 5 hours transit
I had a five hours transit in Bangkok on my flight to Myanmar. This is pretty long, I’ve been to Bangkok before but my friend wasn’t, so we decided to leave the airport.
After leaving the airplane, we straightly went to immigration and then took money from the ATM. Local transportation from Don Mueang Airport takes pretty long, so we took a cab to Wat Pho, which is a famous temple – a highlight in Bangkok. The ride took about an hour.
Getting there we changed our clothes. Coming from cold Japan it felt nice to have warmer temperatures. I was also pleased by the water you get together with die entrance ticket to Wat Pho.
After that we went to Khao San Road and ate something just right to make our way back to the airport. Due to traffic conditions we decided to leave earlier and this was a good idea. It was 6pm and the flight should leave at 8:15. So the most thrilling part of this transit started. The traffic condition was worse than expected and the taxi had to stop many times.
Finally after over 1,5 hours we reached the airport and had enough time to grab some food. There is no included food on AirAsia flights and we were supposed to arrive late in Yangon.
I really enjoyed this transit, although we had five hours the time passed quite fast.
